Public information and disclosures
The Higher Education Act of 1965 (HEA), as amended by the Higher Education Opportunity Act of 2008 (HEOA), requires that postsecondary institutions participating in federal student aid programs make certain disclosures to enrolled and prospective students, parents, employees, and the public. General policies
In compliance with Public Law 93-380, the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974, as amended, Wayne State College has established a comprehensive written policy regarding the maintenance and safeguarding of student educational records.
Wayne State College will not engage in substantial misrepresentation by having the College itself, one of its representatives, or any ineligible institution, organization, or person with whom the institution has an agreement to provide educational programs, marketing, advertising, recruiting or admissions services, make a substantial misrepresentation regarding the institution, including about the nature of its educational program, its financial charges, employability of its graduates, or its relationship with the Department of Education. Substantial misrepresentations are prohibited in all forms, including those made in any advertising, promotional materials, or in the marketing or sale of courses or programs of instruction offered by the College.

Wayne State College provides an opportunity for enrolled students to submit academic and non-academic complaints. WSC students are encouraged to submit a feedback report.
An official withdrawal is when an enrolled student decides to drop all classes and leave the college after a term begins.

Other information related to student loans:
- Entrance/exit loan counseling for student borrowers: First-time loan borrowers must complete Entrance Loan Counseling and Loan Agreement for Subsidized/Unsubsidized Loans (MPN). In addition, all students who have borrowed through the Federal Direct Stafford Loan Program must complete exit loan counseling when they graduate, withdraw from school, transfer out, or drop below half-time enrollment. To complete entrance or exit loan counseling, go to studentaid.gov and log in with your FSA ID and password.
- Preferred lender arrangements: Wayne State College does not have Preferred Lender Arrangements.
- Preferred lender lists: Wayne State College does not have a Preferred Lender List.
Academics, transferring, and licensure

Accreditation ensures the level of quality at Wayne State College.
The course catalog contains a listing of all courses with descriptions, degree requirements, and indexes of majors, minors, and graduate programs offered at Wayne State. It also outlines general academic and institutional policies.
Compliance with state licensure and authorization regulations ensure that a degree from Wayne State College will be recognized, that WSC students will be eligible to sit for licensure in states other than Nebraska, and that WSC students have access to state licensure information.
Current and former service members may receive college credit for prior education or military experience acquired while in service to our country.
WSC is in the process of modifying our study abroad options for students and faculty. New study abroad programs will be available soon.
To find textbooks for classes:
- Visit the online catalog. Select the term, subject, course number, and course career. Uncheck the “Show Open Classes Only” checkbox and select "Search." Choose the course section desired under "Section."
- On the “Class Detail” page, at the bottom, select “View Textbooks.” This link directs you to the WSC Bookstore and displays the course materials required (if any).
Wayne State works with students to evaluate their classes and transfer as many credits as possible.
Health and safety
In accordance with the Safe and Drug Free Schools and Campuses Act (34 CFR Part 86), the alcohol and drug policy outlines the standards of conduct expected of Wayne State College students regarding the unlawful use of drugs or alcohol on college property or in any college sponsored activity.
Wayne State College provides information for emergency planning and preparedness to help ensure everyone's safety and save lives.

In compliance with federal law, Wayne State College prepares an annual report on campus safety and security to disclose information about crime on campus and the surrounding community. This law is known as the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act.

Licensure and exam rates for the Praxis 2 test (for education programs)
- The Praxis examination is a national examination administered by ETS (Educational Testing Service). Although not a WSC graduation requirement, candidates applying for initial certification in Nebraska or for certain additional subject or endorsement(s) to be placed on a Nebraska certificate must provide evidence they have passed the required Praxis Subject Assessments.
