Accessibility Statement

Our Commitment to Accessible Web Content

Wayne State College is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying relevant accessibility standards to provide equitable access to information and services.

Measures to support accessibility

Wayne State College takes the following measures to ensure accessibility of the College's website (www.wsc.edu):

  • Incorporate accessibility into institutional values and digital practices
  • Integrate accessibility into our procurement and vendor evaluation processes
  • Employ formal accessibility quality assurance methods

Conformance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. WCAG includes three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.

The Wayne State College website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Partial conformance means that some parts of the content may not fully conform to the accessibility standard, and the College is actively working to address identified issues, including those introduced by newly implemented features.

Vendor-supported platforms and college-managed content

Some Wayne State College digital platforms are supported by third-party vendors but are operated and maintained by College departments, including athletic and recreation websites, application and administration service sites, and College social media accounts. While Wayne State College strives to make all content accessible, some vendor-supported platforms may have limitations that impact full accessibility.

The College is actively working to improve accessibility across these platforms through employee and vendor engagement, including guidance on accessible content best practices. If you experience accessibility barriers on a College-managed platform, please contact us so we can provide assistance or an accessible alternative.

Third-party content

The Wayne State College website may include links to or integrations with third-party websites, platforms, or applications that are not fully accessible or are not under the College’s direct control. While we encourage vendors and partners to provide accessible content, Wayne State College cannot guarantee the accessibility of third-party websites. If you experience accessibility barriers with third-party content linked from our website, please contact us so we can assist you or provide accessible alternatives when possible.

Assessment approach

Wayne State College assesses the accessibility of the website on an ongoing basis using a combination of automated tools and limited manual testing. Accessibility considerations are reviewed as new content, features, and updates are introduced.
