Hear from our adult learners
See what students had to say about returning to college and earning their degrees at Wayne State.
The thought of going back to college and finishing my degree, even after six years has gone by, had always been in the back of my mind, and this opportunity opened a new door and resurfaced that for me! I'm excited to see where this next chapter takes me, even now as a mom of two!

Receiving a diploma for the work I put in years ago not only brought a wave of closure upon me, it sparked a new interest in pursuing my bachelor's degree again. I appreciate the opportunity WSC is providing for us non-traditional students.

Special opportunities for former WSC students
ReEngage Nebraska is a program designed for former Wayne State College students who left college before completing a degree. If you completed at least 70 credit hours and are in good academic standing, you may qualify for special benefits including:
- A tuition-free course
- Reduced tuition rates
- An associate degree pathway

Getting started
This degree completion program may be a good fit if:
- You started college but did not finish your degree.
- You have previous college credit and want to know what will transfer.
- You've been out of school for several years and are ready to return.
- You're balancing work, family, and other responsibilities.
- You want to complete your bachelor's degree and move forward in your career.
If any of these describe you, our team can help you explore your options and create a plan to finish what you started.
Not at all. Adult learners return to college at many different stages of life. Whether you're advancing your career, changing directions, or finishing a goal you've always wanted to accomplish, we're here to help you complete your bachelor's degree on a timeline that works for you.
The availability of these courses depends on your academic program and remaining degree requirements. When you connect with our team, we'll review your previous coursework and create a personalized degree plan that explores the most flexible path toward graduation, including online options whenever possible.
That depends on how many credits you've already earned and how they apply toward your degree. Most bachelor's degrees require 120 credit hours, but previous coursework, transfer credits, and credit for prior learning may help reduce the number of courses you need.
After reviewing your transcripts and experience, we'll help you understand how close you are to graduation and create a plan that fits your schedule.
ReEngage Nebraska

If you are a former WSC student, have completed 70 or more credits, and you are in good academic standing, you may qualify for this program and its benefits.
If you do not qualify for ReEngage Nebraska, you may still qualify for credit for prior learning or other degree completion options. Our team can help determine which opportunities are available to you.
Credits and prior learning
No, your credits did not expire. Contact us and we can talk through your previous courses and how they can apply towards your current academic and career goals.
No. Previous college coursework may transfer and count toward your degree requirements. We'll review your transcripts and help identify the most efficient path to graduation.
We want to help you maximize the credits you've already earned. Wayne State accepts many transfer credits from accredited colleges and universities. Students may transfer up to 66 credit hours from accredited community colleges, and there is no limit on credits transferred from accredited four-year institutions.
We also offer transfer pathways and articulation agreements designed to help students build on previous coursework. After reviewing your transcripts, we'll help determine how your credits apply toward a bachelor's degree and identify the most efficient path to graduation.
Credit for prior learning (CPL) is a process that evaluates college-level learning gained through work, military service, training, certifications, or life experiences and awards academic credit when that learning aligns with course outcomes.
Eligible students may earn up to 18 college credits through credit for prior learning. If you've gained valuable knowledge through your career, military service, training, certifications, or other life experiences, those experiences may help you get closer to completing your bachelor's degree. Credit is awarded when prior learning aligns with course outcomes and degree requirements.
No, you do not have to start over. Our Interdisciplinary Studies program lets you create your own major, allowing you to direct your studies toward a very specific career goal. Let’s talk more about how we can combine previous credit with future credit!
