Safety Services

  • Safety escorts are available to campus members and visitors. A Campus Security officer or campus safety patrol personnel will accompany pedestrians on campus property during nighttime hours or anytime a person is apprehensive about walking alone.

  • Shuttle services are provided to members of the campus community who need assistance in getting across campus. An example would be a student or employee with mobility issues who needs help getting from the parking lot to their residence hall or other campus building. The shuttle is driven by a uniformed security officer and radio-dispatched by Campus Security.

  • Wildcat Wheels provides free safe rides within Wayne city limits to WSC students and their guests. The service runs from 10 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. Thursday through Saturday during the fall and spring semesters. No food runs after 12:30 a.m.

  • The lost and found is located within the Campus Security Office in the Campus Services Building at 704 Lindahl Drive (north of the hospital). Anyone finding a lost article on campus is encouraged to immediately take the item to the lost and found.

    The item will be tagged and dated. Anyone who has lost anything on campus should contact Campus Security at 402-375-7216 to report or claim the lost item. Articles not claimed by the owners within two years become the property of the individual who found it, or, if not claimed, donated to charity. Property may be reclaimed between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. Monday through Friday.

  • If you have locked your keys in your car or have a flat tire, Campus Security can help. We can unlock your car and air up your tire. Contact Campus Security at 402-375-7216.

  • If you have a concern about the behavior of a student or employee on campus, you can file an anonymous report online. Online reports are sumbmitted to the Campus Assessment, Response, and Evaluation (CARE) Team for review. If this is an emergency, please call 911 or campus security at 402-375-7216.

  • Options for reporting Title IX violations include filing a report with the college, which can be done anonymously, and/or with law enforcement. Reports can be filed by the alleged victim or a third party who is aware of allegations of sexual violence or sex harassment, including other students or college employees.

  • If you have concerns about a hazing incident involving a student organization, team, or group on campus, you can file an anonymous report online. Online reports are submitted to campus officials for review and follow-up. If this is an emergency or someone is in immediate danger, please call 911 or campus security at 402-375-7216.

  • If this is an emergency, call 911 immediately.  Otherwise, contact Campus Security at 402-375-7216  to report:

    • Suspicious behavior or activity (someone acting suspisiously, unsafe, or with threatening behavior)
    • Theft, vandalism, or property damage
    • Safety concerns on campus

    Reporting helps keep campus safe and allows staff to respond quickly to potential concerns.

     

  • Use the student complaint process to report concerns about college policies, procedures, or your experience at Wayne State College. This process is appropriate for issues such as:

    • Academic or administrative concerns
    • Unfair treatment or unresolved problems
    • Situations that do not fall under Title IX or emergency reporting

    Complaints are reviewed through a formal process, and students are encouraged to first seek resolution through the appropriate office when possible.
