About Stearns Hall
Stearns Hall is located east of the Center for Applied Technology and near the corner of Wendt Drive and Walnut Street. It is the first residence hall built since the construction of Bowen Hall in 1966.
The new, four-story structure accommodates 276 new and returning students and feature 168 suite-style beds and 108 traditional beds. The main lobby has an open kitchen, two televisions, a lounge area, pool table, and a front desk reception area. Each floor above the main lobby also features smaller lounge area.
An exercise area – complete with treadmills, small weights, and stair climbers – is located on the second floor. The third and fourth floor lounges have different study area options such as booths, tables, and soft chairs.
Stearns Hall features
- Available room types: Double (standard double occupancy), Suite Double (two double-occupancy rooms), Suite Single (four single-occupancy rooms)
- Bathrooms: All restrooms on all floors are student single-use
- Kitchen: Community kitchen in the main lobby and kitchenettes in all suites
- Laundry: Free-use washers and dryers
- Game room: Equipped with a pool table
- Air conditioning: Available in all rooms
- Parking: Off site, Lot 10 View campus map
- Quiet hours: 10 p.m. – 9 a.m.
- Visitation: 24/7 on all floors Visitor and Guest Policy
- Security: Keycard access to building, key access to rooms. Hall is accessible with keycard 24/7 for all residents. Hall is accessible with keycard between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. Monday through Friday for all other on-campus residential students. Residence halls are not keycard accessible to off-campus students.
