Technology and Applied Science Advisory Board

The Technology and Applied Science Advisory Board is a group of industry professionals and community partners who provide guidance, expertise, and real-world insight to help shape our academic programs. Board members contribute to curriculum development, technology and facility recommendations, student learning experiences, and career readiness initiatives. Their support helps ensure that our graduates are prepared to succeed in a rapidly evolving technical landscape.

I am the Plant Manager at Great Dane in Wayne, Neb., overseeing operations for more than 450 employees. I bring 18 years of experience from the automotive industry, where I specialized in lightweight aluminum components for engines, transmissions, and electrical systems. I hold an Electronics and Communications Engineering degree from ITESM and an MBA from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Passionate about workforce development, I believe in building strong partnerships between industry and education to prepare students for careers in modern manufacturing. Outside of work, I am the proud father of two sons and a daughter, have been happily married for 16 years, and enjoy playing golf and spending quality time with my family.

I am in my 19th year as an Industrial Technology Instructor. I graduated from WSC in 2006 with my bachelor’s degree and in 2013 with my master’s degree. Upon graduating, I taught at Lyons-Decatur Northeast High School for seven years, then I moved to my current position at Bancroft-Rosalie High School. I teach courses in Technical Drafting, Architectural Drafting, Electricity, Automation, Robotics, Welding, Small Engines, Woods, and Construction.

In addition to teaching, I am also a SkillsUSA Advisor. Throughout my career, I have also coached football, basketball, and track. My wife, Danielle, and I have two daughters, Emilyn and Jolee. Outside of school, I enjoy hunting, fishing, and coaching my daughters’ youth sports teams.

I graduated from the University of Nebraska-Kearney, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Construction Management and have more than 20 years of construction experience on projects in Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Colorado, and South Dakota. Prior positions I have held throughout the course of my career include Superintendent, Preconstruction Engineer/Estimating, and Senior Project Manager.

Some of my previous projects include Arrowhead Stadium Renovation – Kansas City Chiefs; Hollywood Casino at Kansas Speedway; College of Business - University of Nebraska-Lincoln; Discovery Hall – University of Nebraska-Kearney; Interdisciplinary Building – Southeast Community College at the Beatrice Campus; Verizon Data Center in Omaha; and Radius in Omaha.

I graduated from Wayne State College in 2004 with a B.A. in Natural Science Education, which led me to a career in lab work at major manufacturers in the Sioux City area for eight years. After that, I shifted career paths and spent six years running assisted living facilities. I then enjoyed a business development role at Aventure Staffing for four years.

Now, I've combined my business development experience with my science background, allowing me to work with robotics while also building relationships with clients. I’m married with four children, and my wife is also a WSC alumna. My daughter is currently studying in the WSC education program. I’m excited to serve on the CAT Advisory Board.

I am the Energy Education Lead for NPPD. Tasked with promoting STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) education by partnering with schools within our wholesale and retail communities. I help facilitate NPPD’s goal to provide students with hands-on learning opportunities and events. Our team promotes catalytic experiences for the youth of Nebraska to empower them for success and raise awareness for STEM related careers rooted in problem solving and analytical thinking.

I am passionate about exploring ways NPPD can cultivate relationships with other industrial and educational leaders throughout Nebraska to bolster our technical workforce and retain our home-grown talent for generations to come.
