I am the Plant Manager at Great Dane in Wayne, Neb., overseeing operations for more than 450 employees. I bring 18 years of experience from the automotive industry, where I specialized in lightweight aluminum components for engines, transmissions, and electrical systems. I hold an Electronics and Communications Engineering degree from ITESM and an MBA from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Passionate about workforce development, I believe in building strong partnerships between industry and education to prepare students for careers in modern manufacturing. Outside of work, I am the proud father of two sons and a daughter, have been happily married for 16 years, and enjoy playing golf and spending quality time with my family.

I was born and raised in Decatur, Nebraska, and graduated from Lyons-Decatur Northeast High School in 2003. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Construction Management from Wayne State College in December 2007. During my time at WSC, I was a member of the football team and participated in SkillsUSA through the Construction Management program.

Immediately after graduation, I joined Kiewit Building Group in Omaha as a field engineer. During my time with Kiewit, I worked on and led several projects in the Omaha and Lincoln areas, including UNO’s Baxter Arena and the Children’s Hospital Specialty Pediatric Center, and was promoted to superintendent.

After a brief period of traveling out of state for Kiewit, I returned to Omaha and joined JE Dunn Construction as a superintendent. I currently serve as a Senior Superintendent in JE Dunn’s Omaha office and have led projects including the Bergan Mercy Ambulatory Clinic, Concordia University’s Science and Technology Building, and the Carson & Goldenrod national headquarters. I am currently leading construction of the Creighton University Sports Performance Center.

I’m proud to work for JE Dunn and to be part of its Omaha team. My wife, Amy (Brenden) Hayes, is also a December 2007 Wayne State graduate, and we live in Gretna, Nebraska, where we are raising our four children. 

I graduated from Wayne State College in 2004 with a B.A. in Natural Science Education, which led me to a career in lab work at major manufacturers in the Sioux City area for eight years. After that, I shifted career paths and spent six years running assisted living facilities. I then enjoyed a business development role at Aventure Staffing for four years.

Now, I've combined my business development experience with my science background, allowing me to work with robotics while also building relationships with clients. I’m married with four children, and my wife is also a WSC alumna. My daughter is currently studying in the WSC education program. I’m excited to serve on the CAT Advisory Board.

I am the Energy Education Lead for NPPD. Tasked with promoting STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) education by partnering with schools within our wholesale and retail communities. I help facilitate NPPD’s goal to provide students with hands-on learning opportunities and events. Our team promotes catalytic experiences for the youth of Nebraska to empower them for success and raise awareness for STEM related careers rooted in problem solving and analytical thinking.

I am passionate about exploring ways NPPD can cultivate relationships with other industrial and educational leaders throughout Nebraska to bolster our technical workforce and retain our home-grown talent for generations to come.

I bring extensive experience in commercial construction to my role as Executive Vice President at Hausmann. I have overseen the construction of state-of-the-art facilities throughout the Midwest region, cultivating a robust network of relationships with architects, contractors, school districts, business owners, and community members.

This network, coupled with my expertise, directly benefits my contributions to my roles at work, in community service, and on the CAT Advisory Board at Wayne State College.
