About Band Day

Band Day is a parade competition/festival that takes place in conjunction with the WSC Homecoming parade each fall. Numerous high school and junior high school bands march through downtown Wayne and up to the beautiful Willow Bowl on the WSC campus. The 2017 parade will be Saturday, Oct. 7, beginning at 9:30 a.m.

Entry into the parade is free for school bands, who may choose to compete against other bands within their class designation or simply participate for constructive comments. The winning band in each class receives a trophy plus a scholarship in the amount of $200 to be used by any student from that band who plays in the WSC band the following academic year. The parade is supported financially by Wayne State College, Wayne Area Chamber of Commerce, and Wayne State College Foundation.
