Registration for Band Day in Fall 2025 will be provided here as the date approaches. Continue to check back for updates.
The parade usually starts at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday morning during WSC's Homecoming (typically the first week in October) at the intersection of First and Main streets in Wayne. The parade travels north to Wayne State College (about 14 blocks). The WSC Wildcat Marching Band also performs a short exhibition in the Willow Bowl at the conclusion of the parade and prior to the presentation of the awards.
Bands will be sorted by school size into Classes D2 through B1. There will also be an Open Class for any bands wishing to participate, but not compete (including junior high school bands). Each participating band will receive a plaque of recognition. The winning band in each class receives a trophy. Any student from the winning band who attends WSC the following academic year and performs in the WSC Marching Band will also receive a $200 scholarship. The parade is supported financially by Wayne State College, the Wayne Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Wayne State College Foundation.
