NASM Accreditation at Wayne State
The National Association of Schools of Music (NASM) is the national accreditation agency for music and music-related disciplines, primarily at the collegiate level. Accreditation by NASM provides assurance to students and parents that our programs meet certain qualities and standards by focusing on two principals: educational quality and institutional probity.
The Department of Music (in the School of Arts and Humanities) has received specialized accreditation for the following music programs through NASM.
- Music (General Studies)
- Music Industry
- Music Performance
- Music Education (Vocal and/or Instrumental)
WSC will undergo a comprehensive review of its music programs during the 2026-27 academic year to reaffirm NASM accreditation.
