Family and Consumer Sciences Education Licensure and Certification

Wayne State's Family and Consumer Sciences Education program (6-12 field endorsement) is designed to prepare students for teacher licensure or certification in Nebraska. The Family and Consumer Sciences Education graduate program (MSE) does not meet teacher certification/licensure requirements through the Nebraska Department of Education.

If you are planning to pursue professional licensure or certification in a state other than Nebraska, it is strongly recommended that you contact the appropriate licensing entity in that state to seek information and guidance regarding licensure or certification requirements before beginning an academic program. Also, be sure to notify the Director of Education Services at WSC to check for authorization and licensure eligibility requirements if you relocate during the course of a program.

Prior to being issued a teaching license in Nebraska, students must meet required benchmarks.
  • Family and Consumer Sciences Education (MSE in Curriculum and Instruction): Wayne State's Family and Consumer Sciences Education graduate program is designed for teachers who are already certified in this content area and serves as an opportunity to go deeper into their specialty while simultaneously earning a master’s degree. This program does not meet initial teacher certification/licensure requirements through the Nebraska Department of Education.
