Accelerated Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) Pathway
Wayne State College is a partner institution of the Kansas City University College of Osteopathic Medicine, giving qualified WSC students an accelerated pathway to medical school.
Through KCU's early-admission program, eligible Wayne State students may apply during their sophomore year. Students who are accepted return to WSC to complete their junior year and any remaining prerequisite courses. After completing at least 90 undergraduate credit hours, they can enter KCU's Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine program with a reserved seat and forego the traditional fourth year of undergraduate study.
The WSC-KCU pathway allows students to begin medical school after three years at Wayne State, providing an opportunity to complete their bachelor's degree and Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree in seven years instead of the traditional eight.
