Wayne State College’s Graphic Design program has been ranked No. 2 in Nebraska by College Factual for 2026, recognizing the program for its quality, student outcomes, and affordability.
Wayne State College has been recognized by College Factual as one of Nebraska’s best schools for graphic design, earning the No. 2 spot in the organization’s 2026 statewide rankings.
Wayne State College’s Graphic Design program has been ranked No. 2 on College Factual’s 2026 list of Best Graphic Design Schools in Nebraska.
College Factual evaluated 10 Nebraska schools offering graphic design programs for its 2026 ranking. Its methodology considers factors including graduation rates, post-graduation earnings, cost, and overall program quality, using data primarily from the U.S. Department of Education’s Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System and College Scorecard.
Wayne State also had the highest median starting salary reported among the Nebraska schools featured in the ranking.
The Graphic Design degree at Wayne State combines hands-on design experience, professional technology, and a foundation in the visual arts. Students develop skills in visual communication, typography, digital imaging, branding, animation, web and app design, and interactive media while building a professional portfolio.
Students have access to a high-tech Mac lab in Wayne State’s Studio Arts Building and work with industry-standard Adobe applications such as Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and After Effects. The program also incorporates studio art coursework, allowing students to develop their creativity and visual problem-solving skills through areas such as drawing, painting, printmaking, and sculpture.
Graphic design students can gain professional experience through internships and prepare for employment through portfolio development and a senior portfolio presentation. The program also provides opportunities for students to exhibit their work through the Nordstrand Visual Arts Gallery.
Wayne State’s art programs are accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD), which recognizes institutions that meet national standards for art and design education.
