Wayne State College was ranked No. 2 on College Factual’s 2026 list of Best Graphic Design Schools in Nebraska. College Factual evaluated 10 schools for the ranking based on factors including graduation rates, post-graduation earnings, cost, and program quality. Wayne State also had the highest median starting salary reported among the Nebraska schools featured in the ranking.

About the Graphic Design degree program
Wayne State College’s Graphic Design degree combines hands-on design experience with professional technology and a strong foundation in the visual arts. Students develop skills in visual communication, typography, digital imaging, branding, animation, web and app design, and interactive media while creating a professional portfolio.
Graphic design students work in a high-tech Mac lab in WSC’s Studio Arts Building and gain experience with industry-standard Adobe software, including Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and After Effects. The program also incorporates studio art coursework, giving students opportunities to expand their creative skills through areas such as drawing, painting, printmaking and sculpture.
Students can gain real-world experience through internships and prepare for the job market through portfolio development and a senior portfolio presentation. Wayne State’s art programs are accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD).
