Wayne State College is excited to welcome students and their families for Family Day on Saturday, Sept. 19.
Schedule of activities:
9 a.m.-5 p.m. Natural History Museum in Carhart Science Building, Room 113 (Check out our huge bear!)
10 a.m.-1 p.m.: Check-in, Kanter Student Center atrium
- Pick up free tickets for planetarium shows. All shows are in the Fred G. Dale Planetarium, located on the lowest level of the Carhart Science Building. Enter through the southwest doors. Once inside, go to the stairs at the south end of the building and go down to the lowest level. You may also take the elevator. Carhart Science and the planetarium are handicap accessible. Doors open 20 minutes prior to the start of a show, and all shows last about 45 minutes.
- Campus Store is open in the Kanter Student Center. Stop by and get your Wildcat gear.
- Club Activity Fair, Kanter Student Center atrium. Check out the fun activities and freebies that Wayne State clubs and organizations have to offer.
10 a.m.-6 p.m.: Fun on the Lawn, Bowen Hall lawn. Come out for fun in the sun! Enjoy inflatables, face painting, and more! (NOTE: Face painting will only be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.)
11 a.m.: “STARS” planetarium show
11 a.m.-1 p.m.: Family brunch in the Upper Dining Room
Noon: “Earth, Moon, and Sun” planetarium show
1 p.m.: “Oasis in Space” planetarium show
1 p.m.: Wildcat volleyball vs Concordia-St. Paul. Tickets can be purchased at Rice Arena or at wscwildcats.com
2 p.m.: “Two Small Pieces of Glass” planetarium show
3 p.m.: “Tales of the Time Traveler” planetarium show
4-6 p.m.: Family dinner in the Upper Dining Room
4:30 p.m.: Gates open at Memorial Stadium. Tickets can be purchased at the stadium or at wscwildcats.com
5-6 p.m.: Tailgate at Bob Cunningham Field (northwest corner of the stadium, inside the White Dog beer garden), tickets can be purchased on site
5-6:30 p.m.: Spirit Station at Memorial Stadium. Come by for face tattoos!
5-7:30 p.m.: Campus Store Pop-up at Memorial Stadium. If you missed getting your Wildcat gear earlier in the day, stop by before 7:30 p.m.
6 p.m.: Football kickoff vs University of Jamestown, tickets can be purchased on site. Enjoy fireworks after the game!
