The festival concludes with a 4:30 p.m. concert. About 300 musicians from 70 schools will participate.
Approximately 300 musicians from 70 schools will participate in Wayne State College’s annual Festival of Honor Bands on Saturday, Jan. 24. The festival will conclude with a 4:30 p.m. concert in the Peterson Fine Arts Building’s Ramsey Theatre. Admission is $5.
The concert will also be livestreamed. The program will be accessible by selecting the event from the Upcoming Music Events list.
The Wayne State Department of Music hosts this annual all-day festival for junior high and high school students from Nebraska, Iowa, and South Dakota. Students must audition to participate. This year’s clinicians include Michael Sindt, director of bands for Pierce Public Schools; Emily Jones, instrumental music/band teacher at Nebraska City High School; and Michael Genslinger, assistant director of bands at Wayne State.
