Wayne State College invites you to celebrate the season at the President’s Holiday Gala at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7, in Ramsey Theatre, located in the Peterson Fine Arts Building. This annual concert is part of Wayne State’s Black & Gold Performing Arts Series.
Tickets are required for this event. Tickets are $10 each for the public. Wayne State students, faculty, and staff can attend free, but must obtain a ticket using their NUID number on the ticketing website.
Holiday decorations will greet attendees along with prelude music by the Wayne State Flute and String Ensembles, as well as the Mariachi Negro y Oro at 1:35 p.m. in the Peterson Fine Arts lobby. The gala combines choral, instrumental, and solo performances by Wayne State student and faculty performers. This cherished holiday tradition features the Wayne State Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, Concert Choir, Chamber Choir, Lyrica, and Fortis performing contemporary holiday music and traditional favorites.
Student soloists include Cohan Pietz of Yankton, S.D., and Libbi Tillemans of Norfolk, Neb.
“The holiday gala is a pillar of the Black and Gold Performing Arts Series,” said Dr. David Bohnert, dean of Wayne State’s School of Arts and Humanities and coordinator of the Black & Gold Series. “Talented faculty and students in the Department of Music share their gifts with the community to celebrate the holiday season.”
