Coaching Minor or Supplemental Endorsement

Share your passion for sports and physical activity with a Coaching minor or supplemental endorsement to coach. Coaching is an excellent supplement to those interested in guiding athletes to reach their full potential, whether it be youth, adolescents, or adults through sports or other physical activity. Coaching means more than showing others how to play a game. It means guiding and encouraging others, and instilling in them a hard work ethic. It means being a positive role model and learning how to motivate others. Through courses in the coaching minor or supplemental endorsement, you’ll learn principles of coaching, like fitness and health-related training principles, and the care and prevention of injuries. You’ll also take sport-specific coaching courses including football, basketball, track, wrestling, baseball, softball, soccer, and volleyball. With a minor in Coaching, you’ll be prepared to guide athletes in schools or recreational settings throughout your community, or even personal fitness coaching.
