The Humanities Building is a home for students in media, communication, and language and literature programs. The building houses production facilities, exhibition facilities, and student-managed media facilities, including the campus newspaper (The Wayne Stater), television station and film studio (KWSC-TV and Hot Attic, collectively known as KWSC Studios), and radio station (KWSC-FM). The fourth floor lounge provides a space for the Plains Writers Series to host authors and discuss their works.

Our film studio features sound insulation, a greenscreen wall, an equipment room, a lighting truss system, and a dedicated stop motion animation space.

Surround sound studio
Our surround sound Lab has the Adobe Creative suite, Avid Media Composer with Pro Tools, Davinci Resolve Studio, Maya 3d, and Unreal Engine. As well as tools such as the Icon Qcon audio system and Tangent color control surface. Students learn to cut, sound engineer, develop Dolby surround sound, perform Foley, color, and animate in both 2d and 3d.

Film postproduction suite
The WSC "Hot Attic" video postproduction suite boasts three new computer systems, which have replaced our Nvidia Titan systems with RTX video processing for faster display and render times for our film and television students. This is a radical upgrade allowing projects as large as 10TB to be produced on each station. These units run the entire family of Adobe video/film, sound, and animation production applications as well as Davinci Resolve, MAYA, and Unreal Engine. (Our surround sound lab also runs Avid Media Composer and ProTools.) The stations are capable of high-end video editing, sound production, color correction, film grading, motion graphics compositing, and animation. All the computers are equipped with Edit Keys custom video editing keyboards and a 50-inch 4k monitor with one of the units supporting an Icon Pro Audio Control Surface.

The second floor of the Humanities Building is used for authors in the Plains Writers Series to present on their works. The lounge is also a study area for students.
