How to Apply for the Education Specialist (Ed.S.) Program

To enter the Ed.S. in School Administration program, you must have a master's degree or endorsement in education / school administration from an accredited institution. If you have a graduate degree in another field and at least two years of teaching experience, you may embark upon the specialist program while completing master's-level, school administration deficiency hours (usually 24 credit hours).

Step 1: Apply for graduate study

Apply for graduate study at WSC. Select the term you would like to start your program.

Step 2: Complete and submit application materials

You must finish creating your myWSC account to complete this step if not a current/previous student. If you are a previous WSC student and you need assistant with your sign-in credentials, you can contact the Service Center at 402-375-7107.

In the application portal, you will be provided with instructions and be expected to submit/complete the following:

  • Application
  • Certification history form
  • Official transcripts (must have an overall minimum GPA of 3.0 in an education master's degree program)
  • Statement of purpose
  • References (must be sent through the application portal)
  • Teaching certificate
  • Passing score on an approved qualifying exam (students certified as administrators before Sept. 1, 2015, may request a qualifying exam substitution or waiver from their advisor)

Once all your application materials have been received in the application portal, it will be processed for consideration for admission.

Note: Students who have completed a master's-level degree or endorsement program in school administration at WSC may have the essay and references requirements waived if the essay and references are on file with the college and are less than five years old.
