Faculty Senate

 

The Faculty Senate serves as the representative body of the faculty at Wayne State College and participates in shared governance of the institution. The Senate embraces the faculty responsibilities outlined in the Statement on Government of Colleges and Universities, jointly formulated by the American Association of University Professors (AAUP), the American Council on Education (ACE), and the Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges (AGB).

The purpose of the Faculty Senate is to:

  • Speak for and advance the professional interests of faculty
  • Serve as an advisory body within the organizational structure of the College'
  • Provide an open forum for discussion and deliberation on matters affecting the faculty and the College
  • Promote and maintain high academic and professional standards
