Rachel Kunz, J.D.
Associate Professor
Dr. Rachel Kunz is a criminal justice professor at Wayne State College. She is the college’s Criminal Justice Association (CJA) advisor. She is a member of Faculty Senate and in addition to being CJA advisor, Kunz is the faculty advisor for the following notable organizations: Women’s Club Volleyball, and Legal Minds. She is also the Rural Law Opportunities Program (RLOP) coordinator. Prior to coming to WSC, Kunz worked with the ACLU of Nebraska and the Children’s Justice Clinic.
Kunz is a licensed attorney in the state of Iowa and a member of the Iowa State Bar Association and American Bar Association. She has published a customized version of Criminal Law: Second Edition by George M. Dery III titled “Criminal Law Cases Today.” Kunz is also a member of the Wayne County Historical Society and currently serves as president of the board and is the president of the board of directors for SafePlace out of Sioux City, Iowa as well.
Kunz’s teaching interests include criminal law, criminal procedure, capital punishment, family violence, and violent crimes and victimology.
