Theta Eta Sigma (TRIO Scholars)
A national honor society for TRIO students
Theta Eta Sigma TRIO Scholars Honor Society is an honor society for students participating in TRIO Student Support Services. Its mission is to promote high academic standards, encourage meaningful communication among members, and recognize academic excellence. Being part of the society offers students a strong support system, opportunities for academic leadership, and valuable professional networking throughout their careers.
Eligibility:
Students are nominated by their TRIO Learning Skills Specialist (LSS) and must meet the following requirements:
- Be a TRIO student with at least sophomore standing. Transfer students must have completed 30 credit hours at WSC.
- Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.25 and not fall below a 3.0 GPA for two consecutive semesters.
- Remain active in TRIO each semester by meeting with their TRIO LSS at least once per semester and, when possible, participating in events or activities such as peer mentor events, workshops, or tutoring sessions.
