About Wildcat basketball camps

The Wayne State College men's and women's basketball teams offer camps during the summer. These include individual camps for high school, junior high, and elementary students.

  • The Shooting and Scoring Camp is a two-day camp (half day each day) for men's players in grades 7-12 and focuses on shooting and offensive moves.

    The 2026 Shooting and Scoring Camp was held May 26-27 and has concluded.

    The Elite Camp is a single-day camp for men's players in grades 10-12 that are serious about playing basketball at the next level. The camp features instruction from Wayne State coaches, skill development, and competition.

    2026 men's basketball camp registration:

  • Elite Camp is a half-day camp open to girls in grades 9-12. Girls will receive instrucation from head women's basketball coach Brian Ortmeier and the WSC women's basketball team, including skill development drills, shooting competitions, and at the end of camp play in 5-on-5 games against some of the best basketball players in the region.

    2026 high school women's basketball camps registration:

     

  • The Youth Skills Camp is a three-day camp (half day each day) open to boys in grades 1-6. Participants receive fundamental instruction in the areas of ball handling, shooting, passing, catching, offensive moves, footwork, balance, team defense, and offensive teamwork.

    The 2026 Youth Skills Camp was held May 26-28 and has concluded.

  • The Little Cats Camp is open to girls in grades 1-4, and the Skills Camp is for girls in grades 5-8. At each half-day camp, participants receive instruction from head women's basketball coach Brian Ortmeier and the women's basketball team, developing passing, shooting, and dribbling skills.

    The 2026 girls basketball camps were held June 15 and have concluded.
