Wayne State College takes great pride in honoring and recognizing our students for their academic and extracurricular achievements. We also feel it is important to recognize families and family members whose love and support are integral elements to a student’s success at WSC.
The selection of the WSC Family of the Year is based upon nominations submitted by Wayne State College students and reviewed by a committee of alumni, students, and staff. The committee evaluates each nomination and makes a recommendation for Family of the Year.

Guidelines
- Families must have at least one undergraduate student enrolled full-time and in good standing at Wayne State College.
- All families are eligible for consideration, regardless of residency or alumni status.
- Be involved outside of the classroom in College-sponsored student organizations and community groups demonstrating a willingness to contribute to the improvement of the community.
- The recipient must demonstrate the family’s commitment to Wayne State College, a commitment to academic success at Wayne State, and a commitment of service to Wayne State.
Submit a nomination
All nominations for the 2026 award must be submitted by 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7. Nominations received after this date and time will not be considered for the award.
Award recipients
The family selected for the 2026 WSC Family of the Year will receive an award and be celebrated during halftime of the WSC football game on Saturday, Sept. 19.
