Testing with Accommodations
For students wishing to use their approved accommodations for a reduced-distraction testing environment and/or additional testing time, Wayne State College provides an appropriate location located in the Student Center. In addition to a reduced-distraction testing environment and additional testing time, the Disability Services Office also coordinates all other testing accommodations for students with disabilities.
Schedule an exam
To schedule to take an exam, students will need to complete the exam scheduling form. Once this form is submitted, the student will automatically be scheduled with our office to take your exam. Students are encouraged to select to receive a confirmation email of their scheduling by checking the box above the Submit button labeled "send me an email receipt of my responses." This will provide the student with a confirmation email.
Once this form is submitted, the student is responsible for arriving to complete their exam on the scheduled date at the scheduled time. Disability Services Staff works with instructors to coordinate having the exam, instructions, and any other relevant information ready and available when a student arrives to take their exam. Occasionally, Disability Services staff may reach out via email if something odd is noticed in the student’s request. For example, if a student were to schedule an exam outside of the designated proctoring hours, an email would be sent to the student requesting a time be scheduled within regular proctoring hours.
Exams should be scheduled for the same day and time as the class is scheduled to complete the exam. If a student has extended time for their exams, but has back-to-back classes which interfere with their ability to receive the extended time, they should schedule their exam for either earlier or later in the day at a time that will allow the use of the their full amount of extended time. If the student would like assistance with scheduling, please contact the Disability Services Office.
All exams should be scheduled a minimum of three business days prior to the date for which the exam is to be scheduled. If 3 business days is not possible, as notification from the student’s instructor was given with less than the requested three business days, students should still complete the exam scheduling form, and the Disability Services staff will schedule the exam, but may not be able to guarantee the exam can be taken at the initially requested time.
Proctoring services for these exams are available Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
