Williams’ performance features musical scores written by women composers throughout history. Her goal is to celebrate and expose audiences to the extraordinary women who wrote these well-crafted, but often hard to find pieces.
Concert repertoire includes compositions by the first-known professional woman clarinetist and the first woman’s composition selected for the Paris Conservatory competition. Williams also shares her original composition, “Unequivocal,” and repertoire for her performance at the 2023 International Music by Women Festival.
Williams is a freelance musician, educator, author, and composer. She received her doctorate from the University of Northern Colorado, Greeley, Colo.; bachelor’s degree from South Dakota State University, Brookings, S.D.; and master’s degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Williams has held faculty positions at Northwestern College, Orange City, Iowa; Dordt College, Sioux Center, Iowa; and Sioux Falls College in South Dakota. Her performance roster includes festivals, chamber ensembles, big bands, orchestras, and symphonies, as well as with the Temptations and Four Tops.
