During National Transfer Student Week, Oct. 17-21, Wayne State College will recognize transfer students, host activities, and share transfer stories via social media.
Transfer students make up more than 20% of the undergraduate student population at Wayne State College. Many students transfer directly from nearby community colleges after completing an associate degree, though WSC also assists students transitioning from other four-year schools and those returning to school as adult learners. WSC has many partnerships and agreements in place to ensure a smooth transfer process and maximize credits earned from other institutions.
To celebrate these students, Wayne State College is recognizing National Transfer Student Week – organized by the National Institute for the Study of Transfer Students (NISTS). During this week, the college will host a variety of activities to recognize transfer students and raise awareness around transfer.
This year’s national theme is “Plug In to Transfer.” Consistent with this focus, WSC strives to help students and colleagues get "plugged in" to transfer resources and supports, whether before, during, or after the point of transitioning to a new school.

The ambassadors will be seen throughout the week hosting activities and sharing their transfer stories on social media.
