'Night Before Nationals' Showcases WSC Forensic Team's Speech Skills

The speech showcase is at 7:30 p.m. April 12 in Ley Theatre.

The Wayne State College Forensics Team presents a speech showcase at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 12, in Ley Theatre. This spirited event offers WSC students one last chance to test their skills and entertain before performing at the NFA National Tournament.

"Night Before Nationals" is free and open to the public. Topics include poetry, dramatic interpretation, duo interpretation, persuasive speaking, extemporaneous speaking on current events, and the often amusing after dinner speaking.

Under the supervision of forensics coach and instructor Jonathan Laner, 11 WSC students will compete at the national tournament held at Illinois State University on April 14-18. The students include Audrey Worthing of Ogallala, Neb.; Dylan Dendinger of Hartington, Neb.; Kaylee Koch of Crofton, Neb.; Brayden Almgren of Spencer, Neb.; Erin Pfeifer of Madison, Neb.; Addison Hejl of Pleasant Dale, Neb.; Kirsten Fike of York, Neb.; Haylee Wing of Republican City, Neb.; Skyler Stefanski of Lincoln, Neb.; Collin Hain of David City, Neb.; and Maiya Baumann of Pierce, Neb.
