WSC professor Dr. Becky Zavada responds to the work of Luke Severson.
Perception is intrinsic to art, literature, and philosophy. Dr. Becky Zavada, associate professor at Wayne State College, explores the connection among these disciplines Thursday, Sept. 23, in the Nordstrand Visual Arts Gallery, Conn Library. The 4 p.m. presentation invites audience participation in the examination of the Luke Severson art exhibit.
Zavada teaches philosophy and English at WSC. She applies her experience as a philosopher and literary scholar to guide the investigation.
“Together, we explore the way literary and philosophical ideas are expressed in art,” she explains.
A sense of wonder and curiosity fuels Zavada’s interest in diverse topics and insight into life. She holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and a B.A. in Philosophy from Providence College.
