Wayne State College earned the No. 5 national ranking in College Factual’s 2026 Best Value Secondary School Administration/Principalship Master’s Degree Schools list.

College Factual’s best value rankings weigh college costs against student outcomes, considering tuition, student debt, and graduate earnings. The recognition highlights Wayne State’s value for educators seeking advanced preparation for careers in education administration.

Wayne State’s Master's in School Administration prepares educators to become principals, assistant principals, and directors. The fully online program requires no campus visits, allowing students to pursue their degree while continuing their professional responsibilities.

Students select preparation at the PK-8, 6-12, or PK-12 level and may add a focus area in Athletic Administration or Special Education Supervision. Depending on their pathway, students complete 36 to 48 credit hours.

The curriculum covers educational leadership, school law, finance, facilities management, school organization, and instructional supervision. Students also study school improvement planning, ethical decision-making, and teacher evaluation, developing skills to support teachers and improve learning environments.

A practical internship arranged cooperatively with Wayne State connects coursework with experience in school leadership.

Students can complete the degree in as little as two years, with up to 10 years allowed. No entrance exams are required. Educators who already hold a master’s degree in education may pursue an endorsement pathway without earning another degree.

Wayne State’s educator preparation programs are nationally accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP).
