Dr. Angela Miller-Niles and Shelly Armstrong will perform on piano at 7:30 p.m. in Ramsey Theatre.
Wayne State College’s faculty piano duo Deux Femmes Pianistes will perform a program of works for two pianos by women composers at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, in Ramsey Theatre, located in Wayne State’s Peterson Fine Arts Building. The concert is free and open to the public.
The concert will also be livestreamed.
The duo features Dr. Angela Miller-Niles, professor of piano at Wayne State, and staff accompanist Shelly Armstrong. They have performed together since 2018.
The program features works by two living composers – American Amanda Harberg and Jamaican Eleanor Alberga. English composer Madeleine Dring’s “Sonata for Two Pianos” (written 1951) will also be included on the program, as well as Frenchwoman Cécile Chaminade’s “Two Pieces for Two Pianos” (published 1886).
