The State Nebraska Bank & Trust Endowed Women’s Golf Scholarship supports a Nebraska resident competing on the WSC women’s golf team. Erica Lee of Omaha, Neb., was selected as the inaugural recipient.
Wayne State College Athletics is proud to announce the establishment of the State Nebraska Bank & Trust Endowed Women’s Golf Scholarship, furthering the bank’s longstanding commitment to Wayne State College, the Wayne State Foundation, and Wildcat student-athletes.
The new scholarship represents the latest chapter in a partnership spanning more than 100 years. Since the bank’s founding, State Nebraska Bank & Trust and the Ley family have contributed more than $1.5 million to Wayne State College, supporting student scholarships, academic programs, athletics, and major campus initiatives.
“We are incredibly grateful to State Nebraska Bank & Trust for its continued investment in our student-athletes,” said Mike Powicki, athletic director at Wayne State. “Their decision to establish another endowed scholarship speaks volumes about their commitment to Wayne State Athletics. From scholarships to facility improvements and other initiatives, State Nebraska Bank & Trust continues to be a vital partner in our mission to provide an exceptional student-athlete experience.”
Throughout their longstanding relationship with Wayne State, State Nebraska Bank & Trust and the Ley family have supported numerous initiatives across campus, including the Athletics and Recreation Complex, Carhart Science Building, the Peterson Fine Arts renovation, and multiple scholarship programs. The new women’s golf scholarship extends that legacy by creating a permanent source of support for future generations of Wildcat student-athletes.

Erica Lee of Omaha has been selected as the scholarship’s inaugural recipient.
For the Wildcat women’s golf program, the endowed scholarship provides an important resource in recruiting and retaining talented student-athletes while supporting the program’s continued growth.
