Wayne State's Industrial Technology Programs Ranked Among Best in Region for 2025

College Factual recognized Wayne State College’s Industrial Technology degree programs in its 2025 rankings, highlighting their quality, student outcomes, and career-focused preparation.

Wayne State College has been recognized among the region’s best colleges for Industrial Technology, ranking No. 6 in the Plains States in College Factual’s 2025 Best Industrial Production Technology Bachelor’s Degree Schools rankings. College Factual evaluated several colleges across the region for the 2025 list.

Industrial Technology at Wayne State combines technical knowledge with practical problem-solving and management preparation for careers connected to construction, manufacturing, design, safety, and other technology-driven industries. Students can earn a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science and choose from four concentrations: Construction Management, Drafting and Design, Manufacturing Management, and Safety Management.

Each concentration gives students a different path into the field. Construction Management combines construction technology with business and management; Drafting and Design develops skills in mechanical and architectural drafting; Manufacturing Management blends technical preparation with business knowledge; and Safety Management focuses on technology, workplace safety, leadership, and supervision.

Across the programs, students learn how technology can be used to solve real-world problems, improve processes, manage projects and people, and create safer and more efficient workplaces. That broad preparation can lead to careers in areas such as construction management, drafting and design, manufacturing supervision, applied engineering, workplace safety, and related technical fields.

Students also have opportunities to become involved in professional and career-focused organizations, including the American Society of Safety Professionals, Associated General Contractors of America, Drafting and Design Club, Epsilon Pi Tau, and SkillsUSA. Wayne State’s Industrial Technology programs are accredited by the Association of Technology, Management, and Applied Engineering (ATMAE).
