Mattie Kucera Named Student Trustee for the 2026-27 Academic Year

Student trustees for the Nebraska State College System include Kucera of Wayne State College, Daniella Kosiso Akwanamnye of Chadron State College, and Lucas Hrabik of Peru State College.

Governor Jim Pillen has appointed Wayne State College junior Mattie Kucera as a student trustee for the Nebraska State College System.

Kucera, who is from Raymond, Neb., joins Daniella Kosiso Akwanamnye of Chadron State College and Lucas Hrabik of Peru State College as the state college student trustees for the 2026-27 academic year.

“As a student trustee, I work to represent my campus at the highest level, bringing forward student perspectives, contributing to thoughtful decision-making, and advocating for policies and initiatives that ensure students feel supported, heard, and empowered to succeed,” said Kucera.

Kucera is majoring in Elementary Education and Special Education K-6 at Wayne State. She serves on the Student Senate and is co-chair of its Public Relations and Technology Committee. She is also a member of the Wildcat Academy of Leadership and Knowledge.

She is the daughter of Michael and Kris Kucera of Raymond, Neb.
