The show features visiting artist Michael Lary Lynch.
The art exhibit “More Love,” featuring works by visiting artist Michael Lary Lynch, opens at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, in the Nordstrand Visual Arts Gallery, located on the main level of U.S. Conn Library at Wayne State College.
Please note: The artist talk and opening reception has been postponed to a later date (TBD).
The exhibit runs through March 18.
Lynch’s artwork emphasizes form, light, and space, with each painting often completed in one session. Subjects signify a particular time and place, discovering joy and beauty in the ordinary. His goal is to be present in the moment and to convey that feeling to viewers.
Currently an art instructor at Northeast Community College in Norfolk, Lynch grew up in rural Nebraska and Iowa. His childhood passion for drawing led to the publication of political cartoons in area newspapers and The Des Moines Register, as well as being featured on two national television programs.
Lynch earned his bachelor of fine arts degree in Painting from Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Mo., and his master of fine arts degree in Painting from Washington University in St. Louis.
