Selections include the exquisite “Voyager” by Soon Hee Newbold; the exuberant “Allegro from Concerto Grosso Op. 6, No. 1” by George Frideric Handeland; and the majestic “Legends of Glory” by Kathryn Griesinger. Repertoire also includes the inspirational “Golden” from the Netflix film “KPop Demon Hunters” arranged by David Bernard Stevens, orchestra director for Hastings Public Schools. Students from Norfolk High School’s orchestra join the Wayne State ensemble for the performance directed by Kelly Coslet, adjunct instructor of music at Wayne State.

Mariachi repertoire includes traditional Mexican music created with a mix of instruments including trumpet, violin, vihuela, guitar, and guitarrón. The ensemble is directed by Dr. Josh Calkin, professor of music and director of bands at Wayne State.
