Winners for Wayne State's 2025 Band Day included Wayne, Norfolk Catholic, Stanton, Wausa, and Plainview.
Eleven high school and junior high bands marched through downtown Wayne on Saturday, Sept. 27, during Wayne State College’s annual Homecoming Parade and Band Day festivities.
Entry into the parade is free for school bands, and they can choose to compete against other bands within their class designation or simply participate for constructive comments.
Winning bands, and their respective classes and directors, were:
- Class B1 – Wayne High School (Alex Wieland)
- Class C1 – Norfolk Catholic High School (Samantha Hahn)
- Class C2 – Stanton Community Schools (Zach Nathan)
- Class D1 – Wausa Public School (Corie Clausen)
- Class D2 – Plainview High School (Wynter Fulsaas)
The winning band in each class received a trophy plus a $200 scholarship to be used by any student from that band who plays in the Wayne State band the following academic year. Each participating band received a plaque of recognition, and the Wayne State Wildcat Marching Band performed an exhibition prior to the awards ceremony.
The parade is supported by Wayne State College, the Wayne Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Wayne State College Foundation.
