WSC Students Finish Strong at 2025 National FBLA Conference

The conference was held May 31 - June 2 in Dallas.

Three Wayne State College students finished in the top five in four categories during the Future Business Leaders of America’s (FBLA) Collegiate National Leadership Conference competition held May 31-June 2 in Dallas.

Approximately 1,000 college students from about 150 schools in 27 U.S. states and territories competed in 38 business-related events. Students also had the opportunity to engage in 60 learning workshops and meet with representatives from more than 25 colleges, universities, and employers.

“I’m extremely glad that Wayne State’s FBLA members had this opportunity to compete in leadership events, network with students from across the country, and learn new ideas about shaping their future careers through workshops and exhibits,” said Kelly Legler, instructor of business and assistant advisor to FBLA Collegiate at Wayne State. “We look forward to bringing even more students to this conference next year in Las Vegas!”

Wayne State students who placed in the top five of their competitions were:

Fourth place – Foundations of Entrepreneurship (objective test)
Second place – Foundations of Selling (objective test)

Fifth place – Accounting Case Competition

Georgia Ramsey of Hildreth, Neb.

Third place – Community Service Project (team event)

Other Wayne State students who attended the conference were Max Heppner of Norfolk, Neb.; Azania Kumalo of Johannesburg, South Africa; JR Schaaf of Broken Bow, Neb.; and Kagen Woodard of Norfolk, Neb.

These college students leave Dallas not only with well-earned recognition, but also with new connections, confidence, and a clearer path toward their future careers.”

FBLA is the largest business career and technical student organization in the world. Each year, FBLA helps more than 230,000 members prepare for careers in business. FBLA aims to inspire and prepare students to become community-minded business leaders in a global society through relevant career preparation and leadership experiences, according to the FBLA website.
