The honors recital was held May 1.

Several Wayne State College students were recognized for their excellence in music during the college’s Spring 2025 Honors Recital held May 1.

The recital featured select students recognized for outstanding progress in voice or instrument. At the end of each semester, Wayne State’s Department of Music celebrates excellence in music with an Honors Recital.

Students who performed during the Honors Recital were:

Madison, S.D. – Hannah Aldridge, horn
Bellevue, Neb. – Dalton Hazel, tuba
Columbus, Neb. – Alex Casillas, marimba; Riley Gausman, trumpet
McCook, Neb. – Kora Keslin, mezzo-soprano
Norfolk, Neb. – Libbi Tillemans, piano
Scottsbluff, Neb. – Josie Mikoloyck, bass clarinet
Wahoo, Neb. – Martina Braunsroth, mezzo-soprano

Students receiving individual awards were José Ramirez of Wisner, Neb., Outstanding Freshman Music Student; and Kora Keslin of McCook, Neb., Outstanding Music Major. Dalton Hazel of Bellevue, Neb., and Morgan Czajkowski of Lincoln, Neb., were each named Outstanding Applied Music Student.

The Honors Recital recognizes students demonstrating the highest performance level in selected voice or instrument. Faculty members nominate diligent students who have made significant progress based on private study lessons.
