Talented high school singers from Nebraska and Iowa will perform at the Wayne State College Music Theatre Honor Choir concert at 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, in Ley Theatre.
Talented high school singers from Nebraska and Iowa will perform at the Wayne State College Music Theatre Honor Choir concert at 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, Ley Theatre, located in the Brandenburg Building. Admission is $5 for adults with free admission for children 12 years of age or under.

Concert repertoire includes “No One Mourns the Wicked,” “The Wizard and I,” “One Short Day,” “For Good,” and “Defying Gravity” from the Broadway hit “Wicked.” Also featured is the ballad “A New Life” from “Jekyll & Hyde,” arranged specifically for the festival by Shelly Armstrong, Wayne State’s collaborative pianist. The concert also includes the Wayne State Chamber Choir’s presentation of The Carpenters 1970s hit “Hurting Each Other.”
Participants are selected based on audition. Throughout the day, they study technique and practice repertoire. Members of the Wayne State Chamber Choir lead sectional rehearsals with the final rehearsal and concert led by Dr. Matthew Armstrong, director of choral activities at Wayne State, and Shelly Armstrong, collaborative pianist.
