Wildcat Spirit Film Festival Celebrates Film Excellence on April 16, 2025

Selected high school films show at 2:30 p.m. in Ramsey Theatre with collegiate screenings at 4 p.m. A red-carpet event for Hot Attic Studios films will take place at 6 p.m. at the Majestic Theatre.

Wayne State College will applaud excellence in film at the Wildcat Spirit Film Festival Wednesday, April 16. The festival, hosted by the Wayne State Digital Film Production and Theory Program, is free and open to the public.

A red-carpet event opens the festivities with Hot Attic Studios screenings at 6 p.m. at The Majestic Theatre, located at 310 Main Street in downtown Wayne. The films are written, produced, and directed by Wayne State students. An award presentation follows at 8 p.m.

During the day, participating students tour the Wayne State film studios and engage in workshops. Prior to the festival, high schools and colleges from Nebraska, Iowa, and South Dakota submit films for review. Categories include narrative, comedy, documentary, and science fiction/fantasy. Officially selected high school films show at 2:30 p.m. in Ramsey Theatre with collegiate screenings at 4 p.m.
