Students on the forensics team share their performances Monday, April 15, before heading to the national tournament.
“Night Before Nationals” applauds the achievements of the Wayne State College forensics team at 6:30 p.m. Monday, April 15, in the second-floor lounge of the Humanities Building.
The evening provides Wayne State students a final chance to test their skills before competing at the National Forensic Association’s National Championship Tournament. This event is free and open to the public.
Student performers are:

- Kirsten Fike of York, Neb.
- Faatimah Kouatli of Stanton, Neb.
- Zachery Randall of Pender, Neb.
- Jadyn Burenheide of Howells, Neb.
- Corbin Kinney of Elgin, Neb.
- Olivia Perske of David City, Neb.
- Chloe Hibler of Plattsmouth, Neb.
Topics include persuasive speaking, extemporaneous speaking, dramatic interpretation, and poetry. Some content discusses sensitive subjects such as suicide, drug overdose, and sexual assault.
The national tournament is April 18-22 at Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant, Mich. Wayne State’s forensics team is coached by Jonathan Laner.
