English Minor

If you wish to pursue a career in the field of communication, an English minor provides a wonderful platform for you to develop your language skills. It can also prepare you for careers deeply rooted in language and rhetoric – careers such as law, public relations, speechwriting, publishing, reporting, theatre, and teaching. Through courses in the English minor, you’ll learn to use language as a form of artistic expression and effective communication. You’ll also study English literature, ranging from classic to contemporary, to develop your fluency and intellect and learn how to write with clarity and precision. Get ready to broaden your horizon and dive deep into the wonderful world of the written word.

A minor must include a minimum of 12 hours unduplicated by your major(s) and other minor(s). At least 50% of the credit hours for the English minor must be at the 300-400 level.
