Brian Kufner

Dr. Brian Kufner is lead faculty and student advisor for the undergraduate and graduate human resource management concentrations at Wayne State College. He is co-advisor of the Wayne State College Student SHRM Chapter, an affiliate chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). Prior to relocating from the Chicago area to Wayne, Dr. Kufner spent 18 years as a human resource professional in the non-profit, consulting, and manufacturing industries.

Dr. Kufner holds professional membership with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), Norfolk Area Human Resource Association (NAHRA), SHRM Nebraska State Council, Wayne Area Economic Development (WAED), National Business Education Association (NBEA), and Mountain-Plains Business Education Association (MPBEA). 

Dr. Kufner also serves on several committees including WAED Business and Industry Committee, SHRM Student Chapter Advisory Council, and Wayne State College President’s Council for Diversity.

Academic Interests
Dr. Kufner's teaching interests include human resource management, compensation, workforce planning and employment, human resource development, organizational behavior and strategic human resource management. His research interests are human resource and organizational development, as well as workforce planning.
