About the Clinical Mental Health Counseling degree program
Wayne State College’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling master’s degree prepares students to provide counseling and mental health services through coursework and supervised clinical experiences. The 60-credit-hour program is accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP).
Students develop professional skills through courses in counseling theory, assessment, counseling techniques, and crisis and trauma intervention, along with supervised practicum and internship experiences.
The program combines online coursework with in-person learning through a low-residency format. Campus residencies take place two weekends per fall and spring semester, providing opportunities for interactive learning and counseling skills development.
