About the Early Childhood Inclusive Education degree program

Wayne State College’s Early Childhood Inclusive Education degree prepares future educators to support the growth and development of children from birth through age 8 in inclusive learning environments. The program emphasizes child development, evidence-based instructional strategies, and collaborative practices that support children with diverse abilities and backgrounds.

Students participate in early and ongoing field experiences, gaining hands-on classroom practice while developing skills in early literacy, language development, assessment, family engagement, and classroom management. Coursework is designed to prepare graduates to create developmentally appropriate environments that promote academic, social, and emotional growth.

Graduates are eligible for Nebraska teacher certification in Early Childhood Inclusive Education and are well prepared for careers in public and private schools, early childhood centers, and community-based programs.
