About the physical education teaching and coaching degree programs
Wayne State College’s Physical Education Teaching and Coaching programs prepare future educators and coaches with a strong foundation in instructional strategies, motor development, fitness and wellness principles, and leadership skills for school-based and athletic settings.
Students may pursue degree options in Health and Physical Education (PK–12 endorsement) or Physical Education (K–6 and 7–12 endorsements), combining comprehensive coursework with field experiences, coaching practicums, and supervised student teaching. The curriculum emphasizes inclusive instruction, health literacy, classroom management, and applied learning to support readiness for K–12 physical education and coaching careers.
