Dr. Brian Trump is a history professor at Wayne State College. Prior to joining WSC in 2025, he taught at Johnson County Community College and worked with the Civil War Governors of Kentucky Digital Documentary Edition at the Kentucky Historical Society.
A historian of the 19th- and 20th-century United States, his research interests include women and gender, crime and punishment, histories of violence, and the American West. His work has been published in The Register of the Kentucky Historical Society, The Journal of the Gilded Age and Progressive Era, and NOTCHES: (re)marks on the history of sexuality.
At Wayne State College, Trump teaches the U.S. history survey, as well as upper-level courses on the history of the United States.
