Dr. Jenny Piening teaches in the School Administration graduate program. Prior to teaching at WSC, she was an elementary principal at Norris and director of student services at Malcolm. Piening was a school-based occupational therapist and special education teacher. She is a member of WSC's Professional Progress Committee.
Piening is married to Hank and has two daughters, Grayson and Loryn.
Piening consults and is a guest speaker with area schools and ESUs, focusing on teacher leadership and principal growth and mentorship. She is conducting research regarding principal retention rates, with a specific focus on female principals. Outside of WSC, Piening is on the board of Uplifting Paws, a non-profit organization that trains dogs for individuals with disabilities and trains therapy dog teams to work within the community. She and her Great Dane, Hannah, are a certified therapy team.
