Dan Mitchell teaches industrial technology at Wayne State College, including solid modeling, drafting, electronics, applied engineering and technology, industrial prototypes, and manufacturing design classes.

Before coming to Wayne State, Mitchell taught at Yankton High School for 34 years in a variety of areas including drafting, architecture, cabinetry, exploring technology, Cisco networking, Cisco IT essentials, computer programming, and several computer classes. He coached football for 33 years and wrestling for 10 years at Yankton High School.

Mitchell has been active in numerous organizations including South Dakota Association for Career and Technical Education (SDACTE), National High School Coaches Association (NHSCA), South Dakota High School Coaches Association (SDHSCA), South Dakota Football Coaches Association (SDFBCA), and National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).

Mitchell’s teaching interests include computer-aided design, computer-aided manufacturing, and designing projects for the CNC equipment, 3-D printers, and lasers.

In his free time, Mitchell enjoys woodworking and traveling.
