Dr. Matthew Haakenson is a music professor and teaches music theory and aural skills at Wayne State. Before coming to Wayne State, Haakenson was a lecturer and then Visiting Assistant Professor of Music at Stetson University in Florida from 2007 to 2014. He has also served as a graduate teaching assistant at the University of Arizona and the University of Kentucky.
Haakenson’s research interests include music of the Baroque and Pre-classical periods, counterpoint, and Bach.
